3. Who is an associate member?

4. If I don’t want to become a member but I want to help, what can I do?
Thank you, International Adoption Guide is gratefully for any help in any form. This project is self funded and it is only through the very kind help of several volunteers that it has been able to get where it has. If you would like to offer your services, time, skills, finances they can all be put to good use to create a better and more comprehensive service. Please contact Cecile on 08444 157 827. Donations can be made directly on the website here.
6. Why do you ask so many personal questions on the application?
Time is very limited and I want to make the most constructive use of time to bring you the very best information that I can. If I see that 80% of people are interested in adopting from India then I know that you need detailed information about India and details about Korean adoptions will fall on deaf ears! We can also tailor events, news and articles depending on your areas of interest and needs.
7. Are my details kept confidential?
I will not pass on any of your details to anyone. You can rest assured that confidentiality is the most important issue for International Adoption Guide. Here is a safe place for you to express yourself and not be concerned that you will be judged or found lacking. It is up to you, what you want to say, to whom and when. Everything between us is always confidential.
8. I have sent payment for my membership but cannot log into membership area?
Oops must be a technical error – please advise us on admin@internationaladoptionguide.co.uk and we will have it sorted out in a jiffy.
9. What do I do if I want to cancel my membership?
If you find that membership of International Adoption Guide is not for you then please just e-mail us at admin@internationaladoptionguide.co.uk and we will immediately cancel it. Please though let us know your reasons so we can improve our services.
10. What do I do if I don’t want to get all the e-mail alerts but I want to be on the forum and have access to membership area?
Please just let us know on members@internationaladoptionguide.co.uk and we will tailor your membership.
11. Why are you not a Charity?
International Adoption Guide needs to be independent to fight your corner and a charitable status does not allow this autonomy. Thus it has been set up as a Social Enterprise, a non-profit organisation that applies the power of capitalistic strategies to achieve social objectives and philanthropic goals. By ‘doing charity by doing trade’ we are able to put profits back into the community to help more families adopt more children. Read here to find out more.
12. How do I know that you are going to be around for my whole adoption?
International Adoption Guide was set up in 2007 and it is still going. We are now launching into the second phase and there are growth plans for the next 10 years. It is my life’s work to find families for the 163 million children growing up without parental care – work I think will keep us busy into the next century!
13. What are your future plans?
International Adoption Guide is aiming to become the number one resource on international adoption. The shop is to be expanded, we will be bringing you audio downloads, videos, workshops, webinars, special offers, seminars, experts and a quarterly magazine. We would like to see the number of children being adopted into the UK to increase year on year and to that extent we will continue to fight to make the process easier, cheaper and less stressful.
14. Who do I speak to if I have a complaint?
Please call Cecile at the soonest on 08444 157 827 to make your complaint heard and we will try to resolve it. Please note the disclaimer of International Adoption Guide.
