Criteria for adopting from Kazakhstan

At the present time there are no adoptions happening from Kazakhstan as they are in the process of revising their inter-country adoption system.

In June of 2010 Kazakhstan joined the Hague Convention and as a consequence has halted all adoptions whilst it brings its national legislation, including the Marriage and Family Code, in compliance with the Convention requirements.

To avoid any mistakes and confusion due to the ongoing legislation reform, the Embassy temporarily suspends the acceptance of dossiers for adoption until further announcement.
