Criteria for adopting from Thailand
At present Thailand is not accepting applications for inter-country adoption.
In recent years there have been more applications to adopt from Thailand than children available for inter-country adoption. In an attempt to control the applications Thailand began to restrict the number of prospective parents they would accept.
In 2010 the Thai government advised that they were unable to receive new applications whilst they dealt with the backlog.
We are awaiting an update as to the status in 2011.
